Our colleagues Ester Boixereu-Vila, Paula Adánez-Sanjuán, Ramón Jiménez-Martínez and Concepción Fernández-Leyva (of IGME-CSIC), together with Dulce Gómez-Limón (of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) have published a paper on the journal Minerals (Minerals 2025, 15, 703).

The paper, titled “Recovery of Tetrahedrite from Mining Waste in Spain“, details recovering tetrahedrite for thermoelectric devices from Spanish mine waste, that was carried out by them within our project. It outlines site selection, mineral descriptions, and sustainable physical separation methods. Recovery rates vary, but demonstrate the feasibility of extracting this valuable, low-toxicity material without chemical reagents, supporting Europe’s circular economy goals.
