Our Clustering Workshop at the Raw Materials Week gathered a good audience!
One week ago, about 50 interested participants took part, in the Hitchcock Auditorium of the Hotel Marivaux in Brussels, in our workshop “SUPPORTING THE CRITICAL RAW MATERIALS ACT: RESEARCH PROJECTS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION”. As you may remember form our previous communications, this event had been officially listed as Side Event of the Raw Materials Week, that attracted about a thousand participant at the nearby Hotel La Plaza.
After a brief introduction by the funding agency HaDEA, the eight speakers from the different EU projects could give their insight in the Raw Materials issues that they are addressing with their consortia, highlighting where their work will contribute to remove, or propose solution to, many of the hurdles that the European industry, and society, are facing right now.
The two hours of presentations gave the foundation for the following round table, brilliantly led by our colleague Thomas Unterweissacher of GEO Unterweissacher, where many topics were discussed in detail.

The event was a great occasion to put together projects that can, and should, cluster together to create a critical mass, not only to communicate and disseminate, but in many cases also to share technical solutions and to raise their voice where help from the institutions is needed!
The START consortium hopes to see some more occasions like this, and will endeavour to build new opportunities, at the Raw Materials Week but not only. Stay tuned!
